Welcome to BattleCats
More than
rough and tumble.
BattleCats introduces children to freestyle wrestling through active games, movement and plenty of opportunities to practise. It is a chance to get stuck in, learn what their bodies can do and enjoy a new challenge.
Sessions combine wrestling skills with teamwork and playful drills. The focus is on having a go, respecting each other and building confidence as they learn.

On the mat
Move. Learn. Have fun.
Get moving.
Bear walks, rolls and energetic games introduce the movements used in wrestling. Children practise balance, coordination and controlling their bodies.
Learn together.
Partner activities are a chance to listen, take turns and understand boundaries. Children practise working with someone else, as well as trying their own ideas.
Keep having a go.
Wrestling gives different strengths a chance to shine. There is room for learning, making progress and enjoying the small wins along the way.

A few useful answers
Good to know.
Does my child need wrestling experience?
They do not need to know the moves before trying something new. If you are unsure which group will suit them, ask us before booking and we can talk it through.
Where and when do sessions run?
BattleCats runs at Avanti Park School from 3:15–4:15pm on Tuesdays for ages 5–9 and Thursdays for ages 9+. Children are collected from Chantry Hall before the session. Please collect your child from the car park pond gate at 4:15pm.
What if my child cannot make a session?
Please let us know in the club WhatsApp group if your child is ill or cannot attend. You can also use the group if you are running late for collection. You’ll be invited to join once you have booked.
Do you run holiday activities too?
Yes. Battlecamps bring together active games, building, art and holiday adventures.
